Example Conversation
I need dinner for four. I was thinking tacos. My son won't eat spicy food, my wife is trying to get more protein, and my daughter doesn't eat meat. I do not want to make three dinners.
Tacos can work well because the base ingredients can stay separate. Make one set of mild beans, vegetables, cheese, and toppings for everyone, then cook the meat separately. Your wife can use extra meat and beans for more protein, your daughter can build hers around beans, and your son can avoid spicy toppings entirely.
My son also refuses beans.
Then keep the beans optional too. For him, set aside mild meat, cheese, and tortillas before seasoning anything more aggressively. The rest of the meal can stay the same.
