Help Me Explain What I’m Feeling More Clearly

“I feel weird” may be completely accurate. It is just difficult for anyone else to work with.

Overview

AI can help you turn a hard-to-describe feeling into useful observations: where it is, when it began, how often it happens, what seems to trigger it, and what else changes at the same time.
The goal is not to make your description sound medical. It is to make it clearer without inventing details or deciding what the cause must be.

What to Tell AI

Describe it in your own words first. Rough, uncertain language is useful information too.

Try Something Like

Tell AI what you feel, where you feel it, when it began, whether it comes and goes, how long it lasts, what you are doing when it happens, what makes it better or worse, and any other symptoms that appear with it.

Example Conversation

You:

For about a week I have had a strange dizzy feeling, but “dizzy” does not seem quite right. Help me describe it more clearly for a nurse without guessing what is causing it.

AI:

Start by separating common meanings of “dizzy.” Does the room seem to spin, do you feel lightheaded as though you might faint, do you feel unsteady while walking, or is it more like fogginess or disconnection? Also note whether it begins when you stand, turn your head, eat, exert yourself, or stay still; how long each episode lasts; and whether it comes with nausea, hearing changes, headache, weakness, vision changes, chest symptoms, or a racing heartbeat.

Helpful Variations

Find Better Words

“Give me a few plain-language descriptions and let me tell you which one is closest.”

Build a Timeline

“Put these episodes in order and show me what details are still missing.”

Separate What I Know

“Divide this into observations, guesses, and questions.”

Make It Easy to Say Aloud

“Turn this into a short explanation I can give over the phone.”

Next Steps

Once the description feels accurate, ask AI to:

  • Turn it into a symptom timeline
  • Create a simple tracking note
  • Identify patterns worth observing
  • Prepare a short message for a clinician
  • Remove assumptions from your wording
  • Compare what changed from one day to another
  • List the questions you still cannot answer
